Introduction
Some things in life are never forgotten, such as having all your loved ones around one table, scents of the new season’s bounty, or giggles over a hearty plate of biryani.
At Pushpa’s Kitchen, we know that good food turns moments into lifelong memories. Each and every meal that we serve, be it a wedding, a festival full of life, or even in the midst of a beautiful boat catering experience, has its heart filled up with warmth and love.
Pushpa’s Kitchen began with humble beginnings but soon grew into the most loved catering service in Chennai. Over time, Pushpa’s Kitchen came to embody the kind of food people truly crave, food that follows the trail straight to their hearts.
At Pushpa’s Kitchen, we never rush our food. Every dish is cooked slowly with dedication, love, and care, just like it would be in a grandmother’s kitchen. Our meals speak of the tradition portraying the fine spice levels with curry leaf aroma to homely flavors enticed at every family dinner.
Great food isn’t about the show, but the feeling attached to it, and this has brought immense trust towards Pushpa’s Kitchen in Chennai when it comes to event catering. From small family celebrations to large bashes, the food narrates a story.
Weddings: Where Food Becomes Emotion
If there’s one event that truly embodies us, it’s the wedding. Emotions, laughter, and plenty of plates of food are all part of the family’s wish to send their guests home happy, carrying warm memories with them, where an important part is assigned to the food.
Wedding Catering
At the heart of our wedding catering is one single thing – Creating food that unites people. From serving authentic traditional south Indian feast on a banana leaf to creating buffet spreads with a modern twist, each menu is planned to narrate the family’s unique story.
Every meal is backed by an enthusiastic team, offering their hearts to each detailing. From the morning’s first dabbara of filter ‘kaapi’ to the bowl of sweet ‘elaneer payasam,’ every offering is treated with affection.
Marriage ceremonies last for a day, but the recollection about the feast continues for years.
Boat Catering: A Touch of Magic
Catering on the boat was among the best experience. It just has this element of magic in it, providing food while you are gently floating on the water. Serene special, beautifully unique.
We recently had the opportunity to cater for a beautiful birthday celebration on a cruise at Muttukadu, ECR, for Ms. Shea Sharma and her guests. It was one of our most unique experiences yet — serving dinner on the water is magical, but it also came with its fair share of challenges.
Since open flames were not allowed on the cruise, keeping the food hot and fresh throughout the evening was no small task. We had to plan every detail meticulously, from safe and efficient food transport from our kitchen to the dock, to the food’s temperatures. The constraints did not pose a problem. Our team was remarkable.
For the celebration, the guests were offered comforting food. The welcome drink was chilled Rose Milk accompanied with a warm Sweet Corn Soup. The starters consisted of Chilli Paneer, Podi Idli, and Cocktail Sandwiches.
For the main course, we had a rich spread that included Butter Pulka, Idiyappam, Veg Paya, and Paneer Tikka Masala, which were paired with Chicken Biryani (Chennai Style), Chicken Chettinad, Dal Tadka, Hyderabadi Bagara Baingan, Steamed Rice, Paruppu Podi with Ghee, Roti Pachadi, Milagu Rasam, and Bagalabath.
To conclude the gathering, we served Semiya Payasam, Carrot Halwa, and Vanilla Ice Cream — a dessert combination that complemented the relaxing evening by the water.
It truly was a delightful evening. The satisfaction the guests experienced made the hard work feel justified. It was the love we put into the food that reminded us at Pushpa’s Kitchen that no matter how difficult the circumstances are, food made with passion will always glow — on land or over water.
Festivals: The Heart of South Indian Life
Festivals are the heart of South Indian life Season-based celebrations of new flavors and their associated traditions.
Thus, on the occasion of Pongal, we serve piping hot ven pongal with ghee and pepper, on Diwali laddus, murukkus and payasam and on Navaratri sundal and sweet prasadam with all dedication.
We at Pushpa’s Kitchen are committed to preserving these very traditions. Every festive menu has its base in closely held family recipes, prepared the way our mothers and grandmothers did. Our goal is plain: to bring home feel in the food.
Serving with Heart
Food is one of those powerful tools that help in community building. Pushpa’s Kitchen over the years has been serving food in gatherings, charity and cultural programs. These are the moments that remind us of our mission, that is, to spread happiness through food.
This is what makes Pushpa’s Kitchen Catering special – that personal touch. We do not just feed. We make you feel at home.
What Makes Pushpa’s Kitchen Special
Ask anybody what makes Pushpa’s Kitchen special, and most are likely to say, “It tastes like home.” That’s exactly our goal. Our homey catering style concentrates on simplicity as well as soul.
We use fresh, traditional ingredients and spices and follow age-old practices. Each curry is cooked very slowly, each sweet is prepared in an artisan manner from scratch. Whether it’s in a wedding hall or on a boat, it gives the same homely touch.
The Pushpa’s Kitchen Experience
Everything is planned down to the last detail by our Pushpa’s Kitchen team; menu, set up, timing, and presentation.
At the core of Pushpa’s Kitchen Catering is a simple philosophy, and it’s food made with love that brings people closer. We never compromise on taste or quality and keep things really simple in focusing on what really matters – the flavor, the freshness, and the feeling of home.
We believe each guest should receive the same pleasure as we get in creating culinary fare. Every event, according to us, however small it may be, certainly deserves a feast that narrates its own tale.
